Kok Chen; RE:" AAPL via NIKKEI quote.yahoo.co.jp "

...brilliant! (^_^)

Yes, the Nikkei uses numbers for many of the stocks listed there. And we can get a table of numbers/stocks listed. What a great idea!

Happy to be holding 10 AAQGE Jul 30 CALLs...

Bluffing through Yahoo Japan is Brilliant. I didn't even try, and was waiting for Germany. But 3650 Yen is only $27.86 based on Yahoo Currency Converter.

quote.yahoo.com

So what gives?

At 12:53 Tokyo time it's at 3700 yen up 300 yen. The symbol in Tokyo is APPLE.3400 yen and a current exchange rate of about 131 yen implies that yesterdays close in Tokyo was close to the $26+3/16 the day before in NY.

3700 yen = $28+1/4

Good work, Kok. I used to run a KanjiTalk system for testing my software but I surely couldn't have gotten as far as you did with this.

I'm not so sure that the trading last night is the whole story. We should have some interesting action today.:-)

By the way, now that I'm running System 8.1, I need to try that applet trick. WebStreet is bogging down THIS computer so much with its dynamic quote updating and the Java it is using for that, that I cannot even type on SI. I drop huge clumps of characters and have to wait ages before the processor lets me type for tiny periods of time. I am hoping running that applet runner will make that dynamic quote service and the Level II workable. You posted instructions on here for me and I can't find them. Do you know the approximate date you posted them?
