Have May puts on AOL. Will not recommend to anyone that they spend their money on putting internet stocks. they will crumble, but timing is everything. If you think it won't happen till OCt, what's the rush save some money by waiting, right?

Anyone looked at options on the IIX? Should be much cheaper than options on individual 'net stocks as the index should be less volatile. But when they do crack, it's likely to be as a group, not one at a time, so you get the "Kahuna.com" without the massive premiums.

Thoughts?

Jason, if you're going to buy puts, why not do it on
a weak stock, not a strong stock?? the internet stocks
are all very strong. the trend is your friend, and you'd be
going against the trend. there are tons of stocks who
have reported flat or negative earnings, buy puts on
one of those.

all the internet stocks are racing up. zacks has buy
recommendations on seek and xcit, hold on lcos.
do you think something is going to happen that says
"oh, internet stocks are bad to buy." i don't think so.
MILLIONS of people are visiting these sites every hour.
that trend will increase, not decrease. so putting internet
stocks is a bad idea, bwdik.

i just bought an october 35 call on seek. now i'm going to
forget about it. sure it's volatile...but what do you think
a may 25 put is worth now, compared to just yesterday?
i'll probably get burned on the call in the next couple of
weeks, but i expect these stocks to keep going after
taking a pause.

best of luck, jef
