Elmer , I was quite aware that the Pentium mmx had L2 cache on THE MBOARD .
The point you failed to mention though was the Celeron was a 266MHZ
and one of the Pentium MMXs a 166mhz . That still says PII is inferior .

PS the question still arises , why did these manufacturers not install L2 cache on the boards . Is the cost of Celeron that high in this low priced field that they cannot afford to add it inspite of the performance hit ?

Can you add an L2 cache to a Celeron?
512k cache for a PentiumMMX costs about $20 at a computer show.
