Bruce,

Yes, I agree. I too suspect some type of psychopathology
is at work here, but my DSM is packed away somewhere ...

VLAD has stated that that he suspects some of the people
posting negative comments here are really short sellers
masquerading as disgruntled longs. My my. Maybe he
ought to start a private forum where members are required
to provide brokerage account statements to prove that they
really hold shares, before being allowed to post.

The conspiracy goes even further, to the ED-support threads
and the PFE-stock threads. A grand cabal organized to drive
VVUS stock price into the ground.

And he mentioned that things are "even worse" on the YHOO
thread. Well, i've spend a lot of time over there in the
past month. It really is a *much* better thread than this
one for the following reason.

There is ONE thread, on which bulls and bears exchange their
facts and opinions. It is not segregated into two threads,
bull and bear, as is the case here.

Over on the YHOO thread, the bulls are interested in hearing
what the bears say, and vice versa. And William Harmond has
patiently warned innumerable short sellers that they may well
get burned. And he very rarely deviates from an extremely
civil tone of discourse.

Here, it's different. It's "don't like it, LEAVE."

If someone expresses skepticism about the company, VLAD
immediately jumps in and tells them to sell their shares,
and move over to another forum. He doesn't want to hear
it. He sunk a lot of money into a stock that's going down,
and he just wants to hear optimistic views about VVUS.

Operative theory seems to be this:

If enough people here believe VVUS will rise, it will.
