Craig The price per port is driven by some of the optical components and that is working it's way down in price. The Price of the switching and MAC asics is already being reduced so lower cost switches is around the corner. The "big" guys are already working on parts of this. LSI has a target core for their G10 process, and Vitesse has been building the 7120 for some time. Hp's tachyon is probably one of the leading (sales) HBA chipsets in the business. So they are there, what they haven't done is single chip HBA, but qlogic's 2100 and 2200 are bidding on "on board" business right now and I would suspect that you'll see imbedded FC soon. Roy
