MB,

Wondered if you had any opinion as to why stocks involved in splits have suddenly become so fashionable. I mean, it's not like they are joining the S&P500! The only plausible explanation I can think of is that smaller investors may have become more active trading for their own accounts, since other investors have traditionally been less concerned about mere price. It hurts their pride to hold an odd lot, so they wait for the split. I'm enjoying the ride (now AMR) but this split thing is irrational. How long can it last?

Michael,
In trying to expand my understanding of the option world. I noted the following trades for SWC;
may 25 puts 100 contracts at 3/4
apr 25 call 110 contracts at 1 1/4
under the assumption, yes I know but I must, that they are coupled would this be considered a negative indication, buying puts selling calls? or positive buying calls selling puts, with one day left to go 0n the april option?
I would appreciate your insight.
thanks
