The market never ceases to amaze me. Here's a little history. In the later half of '97 VVUS was on top of the world @ 40. Things were looking good. Along comes this little rascal called Viagra. "Oh no! Viagra is coming! Viagra is Coming!" the little people screamed and proceeded to sell all their VVUS shares. Why? Because Viagra would pounce on VVUS until there was nothing left to pounce on. The stock dropped to 20. Then, out of the blue, more good news for VVUS holders. They cut their production. "The mngmt. is hiding information from us. This isn't about capacity constraints, its about falling demand. Those liers!" The little people screamed and proceeded to sell their shares. VVUS falls to 10. Well, since then more events have transpired, more of them good then bad. VVUS had MCA approval, it got approval in a few more countries, their new plant is up and running, and information about ED has spread throughout the world, increasing the size of the market. What happens? The same little people who sold the stock because of PFE are still selling the stock because PFE initial sales look extremely good. Well, that is surely a surprise. For three months, the world has been forced to watched infomercials disguised as news segments. The people of the village all new what PFE was going to do a long time ago, but I guess they forgot, because they sold again. Today, poor VVUS is in the 8's, down 32 points, mostly because the little people continue to hear about PFE for the first time. What sad times in the village. Boy, I guess I can no longer overlook the irrationality of emotion. It does seem as though everytime PFE information comes out, people are hearing about it for the first time. I wish that was true, because instead of dropping from 10 to 8, we'd be falling from 40 to 30. Oh, well, eventually (and I don't know when that is) people will cease being amazed by PFE and then the amazement will shift to VVUS "The little Engine that could"! Throwing coal into the fire, Colby
