Protecting the truth.

Protecting our (you, me, Tom, Neal, Ken, Kim etc) reputations.

But most importantly helping any newbies who are investigating. We have learned the story but there are always new guys trying to get answers. Other people helped educate us so that gives a responsibility to help any other newbies get the information they need to make an informed decision. It's a karma thing.
