With DLJ Direct I have to place an order, wait a few minutes, then cancel it get their attention. Then they send me a confirmation of the trade. Maybe you are having the same problem.

Took me about 15 minutes this morning to get filled by Waterhouse (put in order at the market). Watched the stock go from $0.62 to $0.78 while I waited, somehow got filled at $0.68 before it jumped.

I don't think the problem is so much the broker as it is the inavailability of stock.
