Hi Bob!

Hope you are thriving in this bull market! Same old song out of TXN on the conference call today. DRAM shrinks (pun intended) and DSP, particularly in wireless, grows like a weed. Keep your eye on margins, both gross and operating, because this is what the analysts are looking at. TXN's margins are going in the opposite direction from INTC, and I expect it to continue that way for several years. M. Gumport of Lehman Brothers published a piece on 4/14/98 which laid out both the quarter and the longer term trends.

The stock may not break above $65 until one of two things happens: A.)C6X begins shipping in volume to DSL suppliers or B.)DRAM shows signs of life. I don't expect the latter until next year at the earliest, but who knows.
