Greg M.,

where is professor Benn? MSFT's kind-of-real-time OS raised some legal questions in my mind.

My computer crashes may be once a week. I think it is mainly due to Windows. It is annoying especially when I ignored to save sometimes hours worth of work. Has MSFT products ever been deployed in truely life and death mission critical applications? If they start putting this kind-of-real-time stuff in auto braking devices, what type of liability are they going to be assuming? While annoying, it is one thing to have my computer crash vs my brakes working only once in a while.

I guess my thought is along the line of there is no such thing as kind of pregnant. Can the RTOS world handle the flaws of the typical MSFT 1.0 releases and worry about fixing the bugs later?

Comments appreciated.
