Netscape compared to Excite

Netscape is not down much after hours compared to xcit.
Netscape down 1/2, xcit down 3-4.

Netscape traded almost 30 mil shares 1/4 of the total shares outstanding. Check the short interest on netscape it's practically negligible. Thus it was NOT because of a short squeeze or small float that Netscape went up. Granted it had some help from yahoo getting noticed.

Netscape is cheap compared to other internet stocks. Even if they lose the war to Microsoft 10, 20, 30% of the browser market could be quite lucrative. If yahoo and excite and able to do these types of deals, then netscape has MORE leverage for deals and "hits" to their site. Netscape made a great move giving away the source code for their browser.

Excite, lcos, yhoo, and seek still haven't seen the megasearch sites go public or HotBot which is consistantly rated better than yahoo... at least for searching.
