Intel showed SLOT2 while the rest of the report is not so encouraging for the PII power.

Intel would try to sell PII in SLOT 2 for $2,000 to server market. Cyrix should be pleased to sell Cayenne SLOT 2 packing at $500 to the desktop market by end of this year.

All depends if AMD and NSM cam meet the demand increase due to no PentiumMMXs. Something tells me however that Intel has a large supply of PentiumMMXs or they are just trying to scare all the boxmakers into using the Celeron leading them to believe that the supply of PentiumMMXs will dry up.
Basically this is one of the most stupid moves Intel has ever pulled.
