In case you missed it, Gentex opened a sales office in Japan and leased a warehouse in Germany. These actions were taken because they expect business to accelerate in those areas. Specifically, GNTX expects to be shipping its interior mirror as a STANDARD feature on a high volume (production) car in Japan for model year 2000. They wanted the German space so that they could have some inventory on hand to meet demand now that volume
levels are greater there.

Very encouraging. Right now they only get about 6% of their mirror sales from Asia, with over half coming from Japan. Apparently, the Japanese automakers are much quicker to adopt features, install features, etc. when there competitors do than the U.S. automakers now. So, penetration of this market could happen more quickly than in the U.S.

As a heads up, there is an analysts meeting in mid-June. It's been two years since their last meeting for analysts. I'd say there is more to discuss this time around.
