For the record, please note that if you go back through the last several months of conversation about this, the reported plan most resembles what I have posted, in the details. Of course, you could look at that as a credibility problem (for the alleged plan, that is. :-)

If I'm mistaken, show me the old post that's closer. I was putting out this idea in detail six months ago, framed as the best idea for MSFT even if the DOJ didn't bust them up.

As you no doubt don't recall, I said this would be a necessity for Bill to get his eggs out of that single basket, and that being 'forced' to do it would be the best thing that could happen to him. That's because it gives him cover, an explanation for selling his stock and getting mostly cashed out, without a MSFT stock price crash. He can buy the fractional part he most wants to run with in the future, which I suspect would be the media branch (He's done software.)
