Geroge: Briefing Com. is not stampeded, maybe the analysts will agree. It talks of "drift" and holding at $22 and working its way higher . I also think the takeover story is strengthened tonight.

_____________

"Computer Networking
... However, group could take a step back today as Bay Networks reported weaker than expected results... Bay posted a gain (ex charges) of $0.04, 8-9 cents below street estimates and 6 cents below year ago results... Revenues rose by 6.7%... Though company noted that it industry demand is likely to remain soft in the quarter ahead, it does expect to post sequential revenue growth due to strength in new products... Stock which was down 1 going into the report, should drift lower tomorrow... However, we expect key support at 22 to hold and for stock to work its way higher over the near- to intermediate-term.

I wonder if I sold at the market when it opens, if it would be better or worse than waiting to see how it fares during the day?

George, BAY is dead money!!! You would do better in a "money market account".

I really believed House had his act together. IMHO BAY's problems haven't been fixed by House or his new management team after all this time. As a long term(4 years +) holder of quite a few shares, I will mark time and get out of this stock. I am tired of the misleading statements(playing game with words) and/or the lack of top managements knowing what is really going on. Announcements of new products are great if they can sell them. $.04 EPS is unacceptable for a company with $500,000,000 rev's per Qtr. Creditability sinks!!!My thoughts are based on all the events of the last year or so, not just today earnings announcement.

I really wish I could be more positive but enough is enough. I would welcome comments indicating where my thoughts are in error.

Regards,
John
