I certainly hope you are correct!

Oracle's NCA concept is indeed very nice, however in my opinion only, nice is as far as it goes and it is still at an academic level and not very practical for the real world. This is mainly due to performance issues. No one still knows how Oracle's NCA based products (or for that matter IBM's or Joe's Software shop, etc.) are going to sell. There is much talk but not any real numbers yet.

My own experience with the development of Java based applications has recently proven me that Java in its current state is not yet practical for the real world. In an information super highway era that we live today, Java is what electric cars are to highways where there are no speed limit (such as in Germany!). Someday it will be very practical and the sooner the better of course, however in my view the drawbacks of deploying real world practical applications using Java do not justify to utilize the technology (at this time anyway,).

Having said the above, I do believe with the amount of money Sun is spending in R&D to overcome Java's limitations, the end result will be fruitful at which time companies such as IBMs and Oracles of the world will deliver impressive revenue from such applications. In my opinion this will take at least another 6-9 months. In the meantime as an investor I for one am going to take advantage of market's wrong perception and buy Sun at much bargain prices ($33-$38). And I do realize my targeted bargain prices maybe just a wishful thinking, however I believe I may (Just may) not be too much off base (I think!!).
