Lam conf call: pushouts and cancellations across the board -- North America, Taiwan, Korea, Japan. Orders this Q a disappointing $190 million. Next Q revenues projected at $230 million, well below breakeven. Further cuts necessary to restrict next Q loss to a .05. Additional delay with CMP polishing tool. Speculation that CMP market would be immune to downturn proving NOT to be the case -- CMP also soft. Bagley predicting overall spending in semi equip market to decline 20% in 1998.
