Whoa, hold up there 'lil doggie... just settled down to relax in front of the fire-place with my April edition of the Review of Opthamology that arrived today and noticed a SUPER article titled "Will we ever be able to Help the Hyperope" by Neal Sher, MD.

Dr. Sher includes LTK and SNRS in his survey of the possible options for hyperopic refractive surgery.

The first paragraph really got me out of the Lazy-Boy. Let me quote it:

"Though most refractive surgeons may be unaware of it, there is an army of patients massing outside our doors. It's a force composed of millions of aging Baby Boomers whose once latent hyperopia is beginning to rear its ugly head. The incidence of hyperopia (greater that 0.5 D) in this group is currently estimated at 20 percent, and is expected to increase to almost 60 percent in 10 years. Many of these patients, eager to maintain a youthful appearance, will desire a correction which does not involve spectacles or contact lenses. The only remaining question is, will we be able to provide a workable, safe, successful solution?"

Will interesting developments EVER STOP ('cuz I need a break)?

Will try to post some additional extracts tomorrow or Saturday, if you all are interested.

Best regards to all.
