I think the controversy surrounding Baines is that he as long as I have known his journal style (some 20 years) is acid and jugular oriented against the seeming disorganized or overly promotional small enterprises. Some disgruntled Howe street type are a bit jaded and disparaging of his claims of unbiased muck raking. I have heard all sorts of stories. There are those that believe he acts in concert with some people who take a dim financial view of the worth of the shares of some of these more hopeful enterprise. Baines steadfastly denies such ulterior motives. Nontheless he is depending on your point of view either unrelentingly personal and depressingly negative or refreshingly iconclastic.

Bill - you're right about the comfortable climate in Florida. I'll be mindful not to libel George Chelekis - one can say a lot of things about him that are provable. He himself wrote a lot of entertaining words - problem was he fabricated content and was hired as a "hit-man" of sorts. He'll surface again some day. Of that I think we all can be sure.
