Agreement Includes ADVA's Fiber Service Products That Expand Fiber Capacity

MINNEAPOLIS, April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Network Technology Corp. (CNT) (Nasdaq: CMNT - news) and ADVA Optical Solutions, Inc., Ramsey, N.J., today announced that they have signed a development and OEM agreement in which CNT will purchase ADVA's Fiber Service Platform products designed to increase the bandwidth and improve the performance of enterprise networks. ADVA products provide additional capacity, extend short-distance fiber signals, and will be used with CNT's Channelink and UltraNet products to provide a full range of networking solutions. The companies also have agreed to work together to develop an integration of Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) and Storage Area Network (SAN) technologies.

ADVA Fiber Service Platform products support applications ranging from 10 to 1250 Mbps and can span distances up to 150km, point-to-point. The product line includes high-speed fiber optic converters, modular converter systems and modular wavelength division multiplexing equipment to meet the needs of enterprise and carrier customers using high-speed enterprise data networking applications, including Ethernet, optical DS-3, Fast Ethernet, ATM, SONET, ESCON, Fibre Channel and Gigabit Ethernet. All products are available with SNMP management systems and an automatic, alternate path fail-over switch feature.
