Dragonfly, good idea, but I think stockholder proposals have to be sent to the company by a certain date in order to be included in the proxy statement and be voted on. By direct stock purchase plan, do you mean the company issuing more shares? That may not fly. Otherwise, it is unclear to me how you could substantially reduce the transaction costs (i.e. if the plan had to buy shares on the market, I am not sure the savings would be that great). I am surprised to hear that LOR employees cannot buy stock directly. Does anyone have details on that restriction? It is normal that employees be prohibited from buying or selling company stock during a window surrounding earnings releases, though.
