Barb, I am asking for some MISSES of uncle Asencio. We all know that those short issues he publicly stated are good ones. But what about his misses? He never says anything about his misses and that's why I am asking about his performance this year and the past years. What's the return?! I long and trade issues but that does not mean that I will long those issues for years to come. I have longed IDTC for more than 3 quarters and this issue has more than tripled since then. But this does not mean that I won't sell it tomorrow. Also, I began to long CYMI at 15 the day before they released earnings for last Q on the belief that this issue was underrated at 15 and they would announce better than expected results. Do I still long CYMI? No, I regarded that as a trade and will consider long if it dips below 20 without any significant change in its fundamentals. Actually the YURI issue is a quite controversial one before they announced earnings last night and the conference call. Read the SI thread on those arguments on the earnings report for the fourth quarter of FY 97 for YURI. It will help you a lot. Also it is widely believed that the shorters initiated the huge position also based on the technical weakness of Amerindo investment advisor (trying to force margin calls), who is heavily invested in YURI. However, what the shorters did not realize was the huge bull market rally so far this year has tremendously improved the portfolio of Amerindo, also with the help from Yahoo! shorters... Anyway, do more research on YURI, Amerindo, Jeff Vinik (who is very likely involved in YURI again recently to propel short squeeze), ML, MS, GSCO...and of course, the rumored shorters, and of course, the YURI products. I strongly believe that you can connect dots better than Herb does in this case, period. He is really having a big problem with his ego. BTW, Kwok and Li have been buddies since they went to Johns Hopkins University about 20 years ago and have also been business buddies for quite some time. The splitrock issue was raised by several fund managers when YURI went IPO last year, and well, I guess that those managers got the answer they wanted to know. good luck, larry!
