Brazil to open Telebras data rooms May 18
Friday April 17, 1:38 am Eastern Time

SAO PAULO, April 16 (Reuters) - Brazil will open the ''data rooms'' for investors to view information on soon-to-be-privatized Telebras (TEL_p.SA)(TBR - news) on May 18, the National Development Bank (BNDES) said on Thursday.

The BNDES said in a statement it will begin accepting applications for access to the data rooms on Friday.

Twelve information rooms will be organized, comprising documents on all the companies that make up the Telebras telecommunications system, it said. All the data rooms will be in Brasilia. To get access to the data room, investors must pay fees ranging from 25,000 reais to 100,000 reais, BNDES said. Each investor will be allowed access to the data room for a week, it added.

Brazil plans to privatize the Telebras system in June or July.
