TO ALL, re GG report:
I am sure most of you have seen this
exchange2000.com

questions :

(1)how does the STRATACOM part of CSCO compare
with ASND/CSCC. Is this a direct competition to
ASND core switching ?

Moreover, Eric Benahamou of 3com commented on the
stratacom acquisition last fall
"when csco purchased stratacom it was with a deliberate intention
to compete for the network infrastructure of carriers
and to compete against telecom equipment vendors.
In that battle they compete against Siemens,
Fujitsu, Erikson, Lucent, very large
established companies who have broad, deep relationships
with carriers"

(2) what is "layer 3 "

(3) comments on the "partnership" LUCENT-BAY are welcome

(4) GG have defined 4 camps that will dominate networking
until 2002; the 4th camp is represented by siemens/newbridge/3com
and they refer to the "access segment", but no mention
of ASND RAS; any idea why not ?

***OT*** Thanks, dude. I don't own it, it was kind of a goof for the contest. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. Now back to ASND!
