3.5 is a difficult age for girls. They have stubborn and independent ways, much resolve, and all of those baby charm tricks up their sleeves. They have usually learned all of their mothers' flirting tricks, and their less positive manipulative strategies as well. And they are good at sulking and pouting!! Have you tried time-outs, natural consequences, and taking away privileges? If you already spanked her and she has not improved, perhaps that is not the answer? Maybe she is begging for firm limits, or wants to see more of you and is trying to get your attention? These are complicated issues. What does your wife think is the problem? Obviously you have not read the horror stories X and I both related about our own experiences of child abuse, since you are still in a cheerful mood.
