Also along the lines of "earnings quality" is the never ending "Non-Reoccurring" write offs or extraordinary items.
I'm sick of seeing these over and over again with management thinking they can keep blowing this right over our heads. One company I've owned or should I say used to own - (EBY) has reported 6 straight quarters with significant NON-Reoccuring items! Yes there is a slight twist to how they describe them. But then the press releases highlight how wonderful "gross profits" while not mentioning the real bottom line or net income. How can these executives sleep at night?
My answer and I've been around enough to know. They actually start to believe that they are one of the greatest assets to the company and that they bring some heavenly insight to the operation..... Hello - I bet many of you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Granny says its time to through the management teams out on many public companies. It's time to VOTE against management on most all issues. Perhaps if we all will do this they will at least slow down their greed. Be best if we could replace them all together but in most cases that will never happen due to control in the "proper" hands.

PS - I'm going to Bally's tomorrow AM to listen to the spill first hand. I called on the phone a few weeks ago and couldn't believe how offensive the sales rep was trying to get information regarding my phone#, address, etc. when I was just trying to get an estimate for cost to join. I'll report back ..
