My data shows Apr 5 call open interest was 1107. 467 were probably sold today at about 1/8-1/4. 6 calls traded for May, 25 for Jul, and 10 for Oct, all probably additions to open interest. Total open interest for May is probably 155+6=161, for Jul 538+25=563, and for Oct 0+10=10. Total open interest for all calls probably equals 161+563+10=734. The other 373 may already have bought forward, or else have left the casino. (Some may even have exercised to save on commissions.) The option writers seem to have done their job as the calls expired near zero. Effect on the market? A slight upward bias for a few days, I guess. I am surprised there isn't more open interest for Oct, at 1 1/2 asked. Perhaps after some news. Regards, Dennis
