Jeff - Re: "Do you know if the Compaq includes the 440BX?"

The Compaq 400 Mhz Pentium II advertyised in yesterday's USA today sported the 100 MHz 440BX .

I would think that all 350 and 400 Mhz Pentium II machines use this 100 MHz 440 BX.

For your information, the 440 BX "Went Gold" several weeks before the April 15 formal announcement. What that means is Intel shipped over one million 440 BX Chips well BEFORE the chip was ever officially announced.

This makes good use of Intel's 0.35 micron process capability as the 0.25 micron process ramps up for the Pentium II.
