This is great news.. The reason stocks usually go up after a buyback, is the earnings are divided by less shares therefore giving each share more value.

Example:

$1000 in earnings 1000 shares outstanding = $1.00 earning per share

after buyback

$1000 in earnings 850 shares oustanding = 1.176 earnings per share
