Ken,

To the best of my knowledge there are no reports on any long term effects on the retina. The light from the VRD is 10,000 to 100,000 times less than considered safe by ANSI. The next wave of application will be for use by medical professionals, then the consumer. One would expect the if the technology is to be successfully marketed to the medical professional that it would have to be proven absolutely safe to use. It has also been reported that the technology even helped a blind person with cataracts see again.

I would also like to add that the color, brightness and picture quality exceed anything currently available with a CRT or flat panel display. This technology will change the way we view information on the desktop computer.

I invite you to visit our SI thread (MVIS) for further information - after all we are only a click away!
