Yeah, you're correct. LAM- Left Applied Materials. If you look at Lam, Novellus, Mattson, etc. you will find mucho ex-Applied folks, much like Fairchild was once the genesis/departure platform for the rest of the infant chip industry.
Bagley, Newberry, and Mercedes Johnson are all ex-AMAT operations or finance wonks- a dime a dozen, can find them in any industry. They didn't leave Applied, they got left out- expendable you know. Operations sucks at Lam, but its hardly their biggest problem- margins aren't you're biggest problem when you're losing customers, market share, and you're ill-fated moves CVD, etc. cost big bucks and netted nada.
Hemker went to PMAT( Trikon ), it went well didn't it. Belly Up. Yep, he's a boy to pin your hopes on.
