Clark - Unfortunately, I do not know which pieces of equipment will generally become obsolete the fastest. Probably the fist "thing" to go obsolete when you change line widths will be the design rules that the engineers use, thus requiring the manufacturer to spend lots of money for new software from Cadence, Avant!, Parametric Tech., etc.
