NEWS RELEASE

GOOD OLE BOB'S BACK IN TOWN.

Crystallex International Corporation -

Bishop stands by his favourite

Crystallex International Corporation KRYShares issued 340000001998-04-16 close $6.05Friday Apr 17 1998Bob Bishop, writing in the March 31 issue of Gold Mining Stock Report, says he is standing by Crystallex International in spite of a torrent of bad publicity generated by the Venezuelan explorer-developer. Mr Bishop says he expects Crystallex, which is suing the government, to prevail in what he calls Crystallex's "title challenge" for the rich Las Cristinas gold deposits before the Venezuelan courts. The California letter writer has been a strong KRY supporter since August 12, 1997, when it cost $5.60. A month earlier, the supreme court denied Crystallex the right to sue the mines ministry over the gold rights and now is awaiting an appeal of that decision. The ruling was greeted by KRY as a definitive victory. "As I said back in August, I'm much more comfortable betting on the court than on government agencies whose actions are subservient to the decisions of the court," he writes, noting that Placer has admitted it does not hold title to the properties. Placer has a government-issued work contract, which is much like a lease. (c) Copyright 1998 Canjex Publishing Ltd. canada-stockwatch.com

ONE MORE TO ADD TO DE LIST

Crystallex International Corporation -

Casey says feisty junior gets his vote

Crystallex International Corporation KRYShares issued 340000001998-04-16 close $6.05Friday Apr 17 1998Douglas Casey, writing in the March 26 issue of International Speculator, says he is standing by Crystallex International in its legal scrap with the Venezuelan government. Crystallex is involved in what it calls a title challenge against Venezuela's mines ministry in court over the rich Las Cristinas gold deposits. Mr Casey is not saying that in July 1997 a judge denied KRY the right to sue the government over how it granted the gold rights to a Placer Dome-led joint venture, but rather that he believes in the company. He sees the views of the voluble New York short seller, Manuel Asensio, as a disinformation campaign. Mr Casey cautions that in spite of Crystallex's strong case before the courts, "there's no certainty to be had in the outcome of a lawsuit in Venezuela." The globe-trotting letter writer first recommended the stock in August 1997 at $5.45; in November, he tipped it a buy again at $6.70, saying he believed the downside was 50 percent and the upside 300 percent. The stock, which reached $11.85 in Feburary, now trades at around $6. (c) Copyright 1998 Canjex Publishing Ltd. canada-stockwatch.com
