A snippet from Herb Greenberg's column today:

<<Internet, schminternet: The group was on fire yesterday -- again -- prompting one skeptic to remark: "Somebody's going to hold old maid here." Who will it be? Who has been buying these stocks at these levels? The skeptic: "The guys who view themselves as the '98 version of the Masters of the Universe.'' Yeah, too young to remember the Iomega (IOM:NYSE) bubble, the Presstek (PRST:Nasdaq) bubble, the Netcom bubble, the Netscape (NSCP:Nasdaq) bubble. The Boston Chicken (BOST:Nasdaq) bubble and so on. "When will they ever learn, when will they ever learn,'' wonders one market maker. "First as tragedy then as farce." >>

Ed,

for me there is just too much uncertainty in either direction to
commit any significant money to going short or going long. But it is
fun to day-trade small amounts with YHOO, providing you close the
position before the end of the trading day.
