Maurice,

I can tell the NZ weekend has already started and a few bottles of sherry emptied. What are you mumbling about?

Japan and Korea are anything but fine. Look at all the earnings reports to date, I don't see good news anywhere, from Big Macs to semi-equipment. Trade deficit figures are going to skyrocket in the coming months. Tax season is finally over and IRA money may finally stop supporting the market. Internet stock swings wildly on a daily basis. No name IPO bags within hours of hit the market. Sector rotations have investors chasing own tail. The San Diego Padres have the best record in baseball. Now you tell me if these are not signs of trouble ahead.

Next Tuesday is anybody's guess. I am just hoping for some positive forward statements.

Ramsey

Sheeshhh. <<Dougjn has jumped in to Qualcomm and the great fear of Asia in 1997/98 is dwindling.>>

I was expecting to be welcomed back with open arms! <g> (I I will note that I did sell at 60-61, several months ago. And eg made a pretty penny with the proceeds in Tlabs and Ala in the interim.)

Esp. after taking half of your advice to sell gstrf (last time when it was at 62) and buy Qcom (when it was about 53).

Actually, I reading tea leaves suggesting that the worst in KOREA may already be discounted in the stock. Japan still could potential have some big financial panic, but I don't think a Japanese build out is much in the price.

Hi Maurice,

Here's a second for the "Paradigm Shift!"
<Now, there is a vast cdma-like integration of people into a common flux where each remains distinct, but is encoded into the whole. With a huge panoply of modern electronics replacing the brain with the Web. Who needs memory now? Or books? Click on a bookmark for instant recall of mountains of information.>
Remember I once sent you a piece from the Nortel annual report, "Intimate Distance," by Douglas Coupland. I really believe this great pulsing "thing" is bringing us all closer together in ways that are unlike any gone before.
Regards,
Diana
