The weaker FPU is the worst blunder Cyrix ever commited. Not really a blunder but a happen chance wrong turn at the fork in the road that has turned out to be the largest marketing coup Intel ever fell into.
The sooner the Cayenne gets here the better, even if they still use the PR rating. I'm wondering if we will see a stand alone Cayenne anytime soon as Cyrix has announced plans to take the M-II to PR400 by the end of the year.
If Cyrix had a beefy FPU...well... it ain't like they haven't had the time to redesign the chip. Remember that the M-II and GX were the brainchildren of Jerry Rogers. Since he's left, not much new has happened...?
