Paul,

Thank you for your insights on Broadcom.

Someone on the Broadcom thread asked if there was any chance that INTC would ever buy Broadcom. In your opinion, could this ever happen? INTC has been known to diversify lately, into 3coms market, etc.

Michelle

Paul--

Intel owns 1.576 million Class B BRCM shares. Therefore your math is slightly off since the Class A shares were the ones you included in your calculations.

Additionally, General Instruments holds 2.25 million B shares of Broadcom, Scientific-Atlanta holds 1.5 million B shares, and Cisco holds 500,000 A shares.

FYI,
Jeff

So true Paul, and have you noticed what has happened to USWeb ever since Intel purchased it prior to the IPO?
techstocks.com

I believe their initial investment was 10 million. Not a bad return!

Thanks for the stock tip, Andy and company. :-)

Paul. This is very interesting. Someone said yesterday that Joe Kernan has a hard time mentioning Intel.

He mentioned late Friday how great Cisco did by having 500000 shares of Broadcom. He even figured out that Cisco made 15 million on that deal from the opening price of 24. He said: Not a bad profit for 1 day. But of course his profit figures were a bit flawed since he started from the opening price. gg.

NOT ONE WORD ABOUT INTEL. And they have over 800000 shares.

Sonny
