KM, I spent some time researching this and well, no "silver bullet" is the problem. Too many customized lines of code to clump under one simple solution. Most companies will either:
(1). Hire a specialist to fix line by line
(2). Upgrade existing system
(3). Put a patch on it to extend the life of the system
(4). Go out of business!!

I have had a difficult time trying to find a solid company to invest in that specializes in this. CHRZ, DDIM were two of the high flyers early but it seems the big boyz (IBM) are doing a lot of it as well!

sz!

Hi Kemble,

I can understand that it is not easy for an "outsider"
what the impact of Y2k can or will be.
I know you have a habit of printing out interesting
articles.

This is so far the best story I read about Y2k. Very
long, but worth reading it. Hope it helps you to
understand what's going on.

And about the silver-bullet; no way.

My GUESS is that within 3 to 6 months the market
will start responding. Merrill & Lynch will start
this summer cut of companies that are behind schedule.
