Is it really significant as a percentage of their total holdings? I don't think so. Would you want 90%+ of net worth tied up in one stock? Don't forget the stock was $9 (pre 2 for 1 split) in 12/96. Taking cash off table is smart business.

John:

My intent is not to answer your question but to post another idea. But since the opportunity exists to address your question I will give my opinion.

I think that the insiders sold because it was their opportunity to do so within the time frame allowing it to happen. I am sure you are aware of all the caveats: selling not as important as buying, % ownership, option expirations, etc ad nauseum. Could be wrong and have no proof, but feel these guys are taking some money off of the table to play or pay for something with the proceeds.

The point I was going to make centers around the sales for AVEI. I posted a while back (I think on the GDT thread for certain and possibly here as a FYI post) that GDT was booking close to $4Million in sales a day once they received FDA approval this past October. I figure AVEI is selling slightly less than $2M QD. This could be pretty good since JNJ and GDT have been entrenched though not as glowing as GDT's initial US entry. So aside from selling on the news
maybe there is some concern that sales weren't closer to GDT's initial experience. Once again, anyone aware of conference calls?
