I cant quite compare an internet search engine to Microsoft, Cisco or Intel.... I am a trader not an investor and I dont care if a stock goes up or down.... but I have to wonder about someone who could possibly compare this stock to Microsoft... I saw one person say this downdraft was to be expected because it was a Friday You say it is because venture capitalists sold shares in after hours???? Do you know that for a fact....or were they selling during the day and that was part of the downward pressure...those are two different things And the venture capitalists have one heck of a profit...but why are they getting out now...did you ever even ask that question of yourself? Did anyone here seriously consider that? You should. Maybe todays action was because Merrill Lynch came out and issued cautionary warnings about these stocks...even those they are recommending... I dont know what the reason is.... ALL OF THESE STOCKS ARE NOT THE SAME for instance, if Infoseek wasto get the contract that is rumored..that will mean certain things that it wont mean for Excite. But these stocks are not trading on fundamentals...just hype. i saw a post that showed what the market cap was for CBS...and one of these stocks had about the same market cap.....I thought that was quite interesting. I wouldnt be prepared to liquidate everything and put it in these stocks...but if you are ...more power to you...or maybe that was someone else....I get this herd mentality confused
