Interesting stuff from the Intel thread . . .

The tone has gotten decidely more gloomly over there lately.

It's almost fun to watch Intel fall, but let's not forget
that Intel, along with IBM, Apple and Microsoft have done
great things for the world via the personal computer -
however I think it's time to pass the torch and see with
others like AMD can achieve. No one deserves to remain
in power too long in this industry - the right must be
continually earned.

dief, Games will be faster with the celeron, but for most bus apps the AMD K6 will clean the clock, and when the K6 with 3D arrives the cleaning will be complete. Brand loyal customers will buy it, but will the public get sold? It all depends on marketing aspects. the screwdriver shops will not be fooled.

DVD. If you can put it an onbaoard ASIC for $10 that is faster dan light on DVD expands, why buy a 400 Mhz Pentium for mucho dinero?

The MMX last dice will be made soon as Intel is stopping all MMX production very soon now. is that an error? I think so as the celeron will not shoulder that load well and will get beaten by AMD items(except for marketing aspects, and they might succeed that way)
