<< The shareholders meeting is primarily for shareholders >>
Not every shareholders can go to the meeting, that's why most of them
count on Press to get the information. To bar press is to dig grave
for the future. It happened before, now it repeats again. Looks like
somebody never learn, especially, when he has too much power.

Barring Press from the shareholders meeting...

I recall a time when Hall decided to crack down on us Press at the Boston Expo one year. He got so much bad publicity from it, that he bent over backwards to make amends later. One thing Apple can't afford to do is to alienate the Press in any way. We've been getting good press recently and we need every bit we can get. We've got a long hard road ahead and any friend is important to Apple.

I'd have rather relegate Press questions to after the meeting and have had Press attendance allowed but seated in a special section. For the Boston keynote last year, Press was seated in a separate section; it's not uncommon. I think that would have given the shareholders the preference they deserve and still would have shown respect for the Press. Apple should be happy to have the Press interested in attending and should hope that there is publicity about the meeting.

Not all stockholders can attend and not all stockholders have the Internet for this information.

Linda

The shareholders meeting is primarily for shareholders - individuals and institutions. Jobs has accomplished an outstanding performance to stabilize Apple's revenue as well as net income. Within shareholders, there are still plenty of Wall Street's analysts who are also shareholders.

These are the times when some of you bulls sound like fanatics. Barring the press was a dumb mistake, plain and simple.

It won't make or break Apple, but it was a mistake. No sense denying it.

Fortunately Apple corrected it's stance on this issue.
