Dusty: Who knows really. Every one is being so secretive at this point. What I am worried about is that my Quicken will be screwed up and I somehow will have to recreate all my years of trading records by typing them all over again. I know what they say about patches and all that stuff. I do not trust very easily when it comes to companies being secretive because they just do not know what will happen to them legally. It is hard to get a handle on what Y2K problems are being found because companies are reluctant to admit they had a problem or might have one. They simply do not know what liabilities they could face even after they "fix" or "have fixed" the problem. They just stay quiet. Testing could be most of the battle and the real testing comes 12/31/99 and beyond.

I want to know now if my Quicken, Quickbooks, MS MONEY, and Peachtree will properly use my 19-- dates in 20-- or not so that I can switch to something else. I doubt very much that any vendor will ever provide an absolute guaranty like that on their patches or even on their newest versions. They will say it is Y2K "compliant" or other meaningless things, but never assure you to the point you can sue them. How could they when the real problem could be hardware, their software, someone else's software, or some weird combination.

That's where I see the 11th hour program coming into play. It will tell me who the culprits are without having to trust them. Then I can make informed decisions.
