Thanks for a very thoughtful post. In particular, the above few sentences seem to capture what RMBS is bring to the party. George Gilder has written fairly extensively about memory performance lagging microprocessor performance which caused me to investigate LSI Logic and RMBS as two companies who were "doing something" about the performance gap.

Would you mind explaining for the layman how RMBS closes the gap, and give some background on why microprocessors surged and memory lagged?
