I can see the potential for lots of software sales over the net. I beleive Mr. Gilder expects this to be the most common form of delivery in the future.

What I can't see is who, or more specifically, how, someone will get a proprietary advantage in this space. If everyone can do it, how will someone become dominant, and won't it be like used cars- anyone can sell a used car and so there is no brand of dominant used car sales.

In other words, Amazon.com got out there first (and I like them) but every book store can put up a website and sell books. Same thing with software...
