Preston, I read everything that I could find on MEA. A company this size, ranks 278th in the Fortune 500 on revenue & 368th on profit, is not my specialty. I love the Micro and Small Caps.

Looks to me like MEA is a sector play more than an individual stock play. The Paper and Lumber Industry is attracting attention as prices
and demand are firming up MEA trades at a 13% discount to its peer group. Institutions hold 73.01% of the outstanding shares as of January 31,1998.

The stock has plenty of analyst coverge but only one Strong Buy rating. On April 16th Oppenheimer reiterated their Hold rating after the
Co. reported earnings on 4/15 that were slightly lower than consensus estimates.

MEA also announced on 4/15 another acquisition. The co. has been
increasing operating capacity, through acquisitions and expansion of existing facilities. They've also been buying up their shares. MEA repurchased 2.1 million of its shares in 1997. The company repurchased more than 250,000 common shares during the last quarter and has now repurchased nearly 6.4 million shares under the 10 million share repurchase authorization of April, 1995.
