You GIs should STAY instead of packing and moving back to Texarkana. Who do you think would be able, beside you, to show us the rightous path? Now the only thing you left here is Malboro cowboy and SEGA playstations - SEGA is US-product right;\?

Re unemployment. Productivity is up couple of floors so no need any more for semiqualifieds. Berlin/Potzdamer Platz is getting finished so construction/building is down the drain. And then on top of it McD comes out with an idiotic robotic fast-food production chain. Will you EVER learn how to keep yr slaves with the nose down on the grinding stone?!

Bot full amount of EU stocks/warrants + (well, here's my weakness) a load of Cisco Leaps.

Life is very short, and there's no time for fighting 'and something' my friend . Peace, Steve?

Janko

"March 98 jobless 4,623,393 ? Real Worker's Paradise, Germany, eh ?"

Steve, I hope that was provocative :) - Honest, we got 1989 17 Mio "new" workless people, plus a lot people from former UDSSR, Poland, former Yugoslavia. I'm living here for 47 years and I tell you: we have problems, but every who wants to work can do this.

You mustn't go back to 1958 in US - neither for comparable unemployed-rates nor for a 1$=4DM relation. As I posted yesterday - every industry-nation is on the party "helping" compensate from time to time the import-export-balance of the most spending (but not earning) nation worldwide.

Open the borders to southamerika, wait 8 years and let us compare!

I'm not proud seeing people working in a hamburger "restaurant" (what a term!) for $5 per hour - obviously you are.

Everybody here has more money (social-help?) without working than millions of proud americans doing their "service". Is that bad? I don't know. So far we seem to can afford this.

What if tax in Germany would have decreased to US-standards? All European nations are gambling the "stability"-game, more or less truly. (g)

We're sharing the first few years since I can think when US-economy seems to be running well. Wait till you guys have the next "limited conflict" - and let us count the pennys after that again.

Only brainstorming - that's all I have: exact numbers next door.

Re. Germany, again. Steve- have you been there?

I was 96 in SFO the third time, last year in Amterdam and Paris the second time.

I'm talking about "poor people", you know.

My madame comes from Dresden - you know, the Tommys was very successful with their last "fight" their, and then they was walking through their ruins for 40 years - poor but happy (g).

Take a look at Dresden today - and tell me, which town you know compared to that being in a overall better state.

Walk through the streets at night - why not - compare, what you can get to eat for your $$$ and how you can stay.

Scan the streets if you can detect "slums". There's a lot of destroyed buildings, they have 20% unemployed-rate, there are very different trends dividing young folks in aggressive groups, but NOTHING, and Steve, I mean NOTHING remembers in the state of problems you see in EVERY important US-town.

Germans must learn from new solutions everywhere. Here are discussions about the ways Netherlands, Denmark or GB are going. But nobody - what political colour ever he/she is wearing - honesty thinks that US-relations are something worth to tend up there.

The more we copy "American errors of life", the more the understanding grows that cars, energy-spending, living for work, religion, prudery and war are not good idols for a better living.

Let me add: Gates software-controlled overall-survival by cameras, 1000 tv-channels without content, Mad-Cow-Desease-chains, destroying of ressources, their's a lot weak here - but most items that are weak here came from USA and - thanks God - have not the same crude dimension in Europe than there.

Some people say that SFO was the most "European" town in US. You know it better than every other of us, Steve: Is anything "European" with SFO? (except the warf compared to Paris Disney :)

Wow, Steve, you got it. You brought me up from my small daily problems. Let's keep fighting a bit, h„?
