<Off topic> Mark, why do you not click on Allen Benn's profile, and in private exchange phone numbers and bury the hatchet personally. You are intelligent people and can have different opinions and still "get along." Give it a good, honest try. You will be surprised at the response. wj

He never insulted you at all, at least publicly. And mention was made of your inexperience... not your age.

Mark, you have what I would call "Allen Benn Envy". You have some facts at your fingertips, you're a decent writer, and can quote Yourdon (God knows why:) from your keyboard, but you have in no way ever shown a spark of his ability for analysis. Period. You try, but it is normally seriously flawed. Most of the people on this list have quit calling you on it anymore. Nor have you shown any of his indepth knowledge about investing. You have no "investment wisdom". He has.

You have stated that you have no interest in Wind River as an investment. At least if you were short the stock I would respect you as having the courage of your convictions. Therefore I can imagine that you write to this thread for only one reason, to somehow feel that you are competing with Allen Benn.

It obviously annoys and confounds you that some of us enjoy the musings of Allen Benn over yours. But the reasons are obvious, Mark. You don't measure up to any of his strengths, either in his knowledge of investing, or in his knowledge of embedded systems.

I will always remember one thing about you. In the spring of last year you announced the death of Wind River at 18. He called you on it. He offered you a bet in a very gentlemanly way. You shrunk away.

No courage. No conviction. Just talk.

Sincerely,

mac

PS: This is neither a solicitation nor an offering of Allen Benn to the public. Neither I, nor any of my friends, make a market in Allen Benn. :)

Mark,

The politics of envy are inherently self-limiting.
