Cost Of DRAM Per Bit Trails Off

The cost of DRAM chips on a per-Mbit basis continues to enjoy a steady decline as new densities are assimilated by the market. Chip suppliers will experience a DRAM revenue increase of 1.4% in 1998, to more than $20 billion, but any growth is dependent on the health of the PC market, according to Semico Research Corp., Phoenix.
